Icarus in June

Icarus in June

The body of works presented as part of the Degree Show in the Edinburgh College of Art in June 2010. All the works relate to the mythological Icarus who wanted to cross the ocean on the wings made out of feathers and beeswax. The feathers used in these works are parts of used badminton shuttlecocks. The shuttlecock relates to the flight, the light and the heavy, and the struggle to sustain.
