Pigeon-hole

Pigeon-hole

Pigeons seem to me an inseparable part of the European city. The city developed a number of harmful ways of protection against these creatures, e.g. nets, pikes, broken glass. Having this in mind, the available installation space appeared to me as a box or shed. The visitor had to cross over a row of broken glass in order to enter the space. Inside there was a series of prints that marked the presence of pigeons. Traditional printmaking – the etching techniques enabled me to imprint and visualize those birds’ footprints, smudges and pecking marks. The colour of the paper and the walls meant to resemble the grey and blue colors of a pigeon.
